Pro’s

• Fast and Easy to use.
• Automatic shut-off.
• Compact and holds large rolls of vacuum bags.
• Convenient dispense and rewind feature is great for making custom-sized bags.
• The cut and seal feature is a great feature that eliminates the cutting and then reinserting the bag to seal it.
• The Cleanout tray is easy to remove and clean.
• Comes with a few various vacuum bags to get you started.
• Marinade feature works great.  Comes with one 2+ Quart square container for sealing and marinading. (Optional containers can be purchased for this feature).
• A long electrical cord.
• Ends freezer-burn.
• Allows you to purchase in bulk and save $$$ over smaller over-priced packages.
• Seals important papers, treasures, and heirlooms against air, moisture, and natural disasters.

Cons:

• Doesn’t detect liquids as promised and doesn’t always seal properly.
• Waste of vacuum bag material: Requires 9/16″ (1 1/2 cm) between the cut edge and the seal of the bottom of the bag.
• Waste of vacuum bag material: Waste 1 1/8″ (3 cm) material when sealing the top of the bag.
• Overheats when used repeatedly and has to cool for several seconds before sealing another bag.

The Count’s review:  All opinions expressed are truthful and 100% my own.  We are not paid to review or endorse this product.  Our family has been using Foodsaver products for well over a decade.  Our freezer is well-stocked with a variety of foods all vacuumed sealed to keep them fresh 5 to 10X longer than regular freezer bags and never have to worry about freezer-burn.  We make huge batches of Italian sauces, chili, and broths for use at a later date.  We buy meat in bulk and vacuum seal everything in individual portions so everyone can have what they want to eat for dinner.  When we entertain, it is great to be able to defrost the exact portion amount we need for the number of guests that we’ll be serving.  We save so much money buying in bulk that it more than pays for the vacuum bags 10X over.  When we travel across the country in our Motorhome, the Foodsaver travels with us so we can purchase fish and meat to stock our freezer with fresh buffalo, elk, salmon and more.  We took protective measures during Hurrican Irma and sealed all our important documents in Foodsaver vacuum bags in case of flooding, as a precaution.  It might be a food saver, but we have found 100’s of uses around the house for this quality piece of equipment.  We highly recommend this product and believe your family will benefit from owning one too!
