Flank Steak Stroganoff
There is nothing that compares to Flank Steak Stroganoff as a great comfort food. Tender juicy steak in a creamy sauce with egg noodles is like a little heaven on earth…
3 lbs of Flank Steak
1/2 cup chopped Onions
Pillsbury Wondra Quick Mixing Flour
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
12 oz. fresh white mushrooms
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup of evaporated milk
1 cup sour cream
2 Tablespoons fresh parsley (plus some for garnishing)
1 12 oz. package of extra wide egg noodles.
2 cups beef broth.
- This is very important! Cut steak into 1/4″ strips across the grain of the Flank Steak.
- In a hot saute pan, add olive oil and bring to a medium-high heat. Working in small batches, add steak strips a few at a time and Brown on both sides. Set aside.
- Add a little more olive oil to the pan and add onions and sweat them until translucent.
- Add Mushrooms, salt, and pepper to the saute pan and combine with onions. Work mushrooms until most of the juices have evaporated.
- In a separate pot, begin cooking the noodles as per direction on the package.
- Reduce heat to low and add beef broth and heavy cream and combine.
- Add Evaporated Milk and combine.
- Add Sour Cream and parsley and combine.
- Reintroduce Steak into the sauce, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
If the sauce isn’t as thick as you would like, sprinkle Wondra a little at a time and stir. Continue until desired thickness is accomplished.
Plate noodles and cover with a generous portion of steak and stroganoff sauce!
